Picnic Lunch was inspired by summer days and the excitement I would always feel when I thought about picnics. The reality of a picnic is not always so easy - (with bugs and food safety, etc.), but the romantic thought of a picnic makes my heart sing. So the birds perched on a watermelon and a plate sing to each other, a romantic summer pair.

I developed this style in the mid 1990's and popularized it in the home design world with my "Cristina Acosta" signature line of ceramic tile and licensed products. I wrote and illustrated, Paint Happy!, ©2002, 2004 published by North Light Books. Paint Happy, by Cristina Acosta (me) demonstrates a variety of art instructions and concepts with this series of images. This style was my dominant art style from 1994-2006.
