Color Conversations with Cristina

Color does more than convey a mood or set off a room. Color is a language that continually evolves with the cultures that contribute the shades and tones of meaning each of us sees. Artist and Color Consultant, Cristina Acosta, shares her insights and expertise about the colors in your life – your home – your business.

Cristina’s philosophy is simple: “When art surrounds us, our world is richer and more beautiful.” Inspired by her Mexican American heritage, Cristina creates vibrant designs using cut-loose colors and inviting textures. She has captured the intensity and vitality of nature’s most color palette to celebrate its magic in the home.

The rich and inspired color palettes of Mexican American art and craft have shaped the perception of Cristina. “As a child my home was filled with many Mexican, Native American and Chicano handmade crafts and art,” says Cristina, “Handcrafted objects have an indelible trace of warmth and spirit. Every design I paint, from a simple stripe to a complex print is inspired by the sensibilities of an artisan’s personal touch.”

Cristina’s images and reputation as an expert in the home decor market position her as the ideal licensee. Her work first appeared on the national home decor scene in 1991 when she distributed her Cristina Acosta® Signature line of ceramic tile through the
