Title: Blowing in the WInd, Summer Day with Laundry
Medium:
Acrylic and hard pastel on 100% rag paper
Size: 30" wide x 22"
tall
Year: 2001
Image
Inspiration:
Wind whips the the warm sunshine through the clothes drying on
the line. The birds arrive to chat and play amid the ever
changing shapes.
The first five years of my life, I lived in the little beach
town of Playa del Rey in Southern California. Our house sat on
a sand dune buffeted by the coastal breezes. My mother would
send me to play in the backyard, often giving me the "job"
of chasing the birds off the laundry line. This painting
is about that memory. It is the second one in the series. The
first one is Laundry on the
Line.
This image was published in my book, Paint Happy!
This painting is for sale through High
Desert Gallery.
